Fairy Village, Fire Dancing, Bubbles, & More! Friday, October 22nd, 5:30pm at Rathbun Library

The Friends of Rathbun Library are thrilled to host our first ever Halloween Harvest Half Pint Village.

We’ve invited folks to create mini-planters with a seasonal theme and we will create a miniature ( aka Half Pint ) Halloween Harvest village in the Reading Garden behind the library.

You won’t find any fairies in these container gardens, but you will find plenty of tiny spooks and spirits tucked in amongst the straw, squash and spider webs.

Visitors are welcome to explore the village at their leisure from Oct. 18th to Oct. 30th during regular library ( daylight ) hours.

On Friday Oct 22nd, everyone is invited to a special after-dark celebration from 5:30 to 8 pm.  The Friends will serve refreshments and tell ( not too scary ) ghost stories around a crackling campfire.  The Half Pint Village will be lit up for the evening so you can explore all the mini-gardens as you look for clues from our scavenger hunt.

The festivities commence at 5:30; come early because you won’t want to miss the bewitching Bubblemania presentation and the sizzling Fire Dancer performance! At 5:45, Casey Carle will mesmerize the audience with his mastery of the unbelievable qualities and beauty of spherical liquids. At 6:30, the Garden will glow as Fire-N-Flow perform feats of flaming artistry ( both performances will be weather permitting ).

All attendees will be entered in a free drawing to win a painting by local artist Beth Stewart and goodie bags will be given to those that find all the clues in the scavenger hunt.

We hope to see you there, in costumes of course! This is a free family- friendly, bring your own flashlight event. Please park across the street at St. Stephen’s church and be sure to cross carefully.’
