The Life of Anna Louise James

Join us at the Rathbun on Sunday, March 10 at 2pm for a celebration of Women’s History Month! Kandie Carle will discuss the life of Anna Louise James, the woman behind the James Pharmacy of Old Saybrook, CT. Come hear about the remarkable Ms. James, who was born in Hartford, CT, to a runaway slave from Virginia. In 1908, Ms. James made history by becoming the first female African American pharmacist licensed in the state of Connecticut. No registration required, we hope to see you there!
